Synopsis: Nests colonially only along the shores of large lakes in Harney and Lake Counties. Most notable are the records from Malheur County, coastal Curry County, and Klamath Lakes region (Possibles).

Lake/Pond Shoreline & Islands (103335 acres)
Edges of Freshwater Marsh (13463 acres)
lesser
Seasonally Wet Playa (10584 acres)

Relative Detectability: Easily seen, but colonies may be at remote locations, making confirmation of nesting difficult.

Challenge: Locate rookeries perhaps associated with some of the Possible records.
